New Delhi: A key west Delhi traffic link will face restrictions for 40 days as the Karampura-Moti Nagar Flyover is set to undergo repairs from Sept 19 to Oct 29, with traffic police warning commuters of likely congestion on routes towards Kirti Nagar, Shadipur and surrounding areas.
From Sept 19 to Oct 9, the carriageway from Karampura towards Kirti Nagar (Patel Road) will remain closed. From Oct 10 to Oct 29, the carriageway from Kirti Nagar towards Karampura will be shut. The flyover is an important link for commuters travelling between Karampura, Moti Nagar, Kirti Nagar, Punjabi Bagh and Shadipur, connecting busy residential and commercial areas with major arterial roads. The closure is likely to affect traffic movement, particularly on the stretch from Karampura/Shiv Dass Puri Road towards Kirti Nagar Road (Patel Road), in the direction of Shadipur. The flyover will be closed in phases. The service road will remain open. To avoid congestion, commuters coming from Britannia Flyover/Ring Road towards Karampura-Moti Nagar have been advised to take a left at Punjabi Bagh Roundabout towards Jakhira/Rohtak Road. Those travelling from Club Road, Nursery Cut and Vashisht Gulla Marg, Punjabi Bagh, towards Karampura/Moti Nagar should avoid the right turn at Bharat Darshan Park traffic signal. They can continue straight and take a right at the Punjabi Bagh Roundabout towards Jakhira/Rohtak Road. Commuters from Peeragarhi, Paschim Vihar and Madipur on Rohtak Road heading towards Karampura/Moti Nagar should also avoid the right turn at Punjabi Bagh Roundabout towards Ring Road and continue towards Jakhira/Rohtak Road. Traffic personnel will be deployed in the area, and commuters have been advised to follow their directions and plan their journeys accordingly. Download the TOI App.
