New Delhi: Chief minister Rekha Gupta Monday launched a cashless medical facility for over 50,000 pensioners and family pensioners of the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ in presence of water minister Parvesh Verma.

Verma said DJB employees and pensioners had dedicated their lives to serving the city and should not have to go through lengthy paperwork and reimbursement procedures for medical treatment. Download the TOI App.
“The govt worked to address the problem despite several hurdles and challenges in implementing the system,” she said.
Earlier, pensioners had to pay medical expenses from their own pockets before applying for reimbursement involving a lengthy process, which was particularly difficult for the elders.
The facility will allow pensioners to avail cashless treatment and medical tests through a single-window system, eliminating complex reimbursement procedures and reducing medical expenses. Gupta stated that the govt must ensure that DJB and family pensioners receive healthcare facilities in an easy and dignified manner in return for their years of service.
