New Delhi: Outlining a four-pillar roadmap for a world-class Delhi, lieutenant governor TS Sandhu Friday stressed upon safer streets for women and children through better lighting and increased pink force deployment, AI-enabled responsive civic services, zero-waste neighbourhoods and Jan Bhagidari as shared civic responsibility.
NDMC has recently approved a proposal for installing streetlight poles at 700 dark spots, including Tughlaq Road, Kushal Road, Akbar Road, Palika Vihar, Teen Murthi Marg, Thyagraj Marg, Kashmere House Lane, Janpath Lane, Hanuman Road and KG Marg. Octagonal poles will be installed in 240 days at dark spots for safety and security of pedestrians and smooth traffic movement.
At the same time, cleanliness cannot be the responsibility of govt alone; every citizen must become an active partner in this endeavour,” LG said while interacting with the New Delhi Municipal Council staff at NDMC Convention Centre. He also visited zero-waste model locality Anupam Colony at Chanakyapuri.
NDMC has achieved the target of 100% source segregation under Swachhta Hi Sewa and taken several measures to strengthen the sustainable waste management system.
