Hyderabad : A 26-year-old NEET-PG aspirant was found dead in her hostel room near RTC X Roads on Saturday, a day before the national postgraduate medical entrance examination.
Police said she left behind a note stating that she had been struggling with depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts for several years.
The deceased, B Yashvita (26), was preparing for the NEET-PG examination while staying at a private girls’ hostel near RTC X Roads, according to Chikkadpally police. “As Yashvita was supposed to attend the NEET-PG exam on Sunday, her father spoke to her at around 8.30 am on Saturday. Around 9.30 am, when Rammohan Reddy again tried calling his daughter, she did not respond. Police registered a case under section 194 (suspicious death) of the BNSS.

Parents were planning to come to Hyderabad to take Yashvita to the exam centre,” Chikkadpally inspector L Madhu Babu said. Yashvita’s friend found her lying dead in her bed,” the inspector said. Unable to overcome her health issues, Yashvita said she decided to end her life. She said sorry to her parents in the note,” the inspector said.
She was daughter of Kurnool-based businessman B Rammohan Reddy. “Unable to reach her after repeated attempts, parents contacted Yashvita’s friend in the hostel and asked her to check. The hostel management and Yashvita’s parents were immediately alerted, following which police were informed. “She consumed unknown poison. We found a suicide note in the room. Yashvita wrote that she was suffering from depression and anxiety since her Intermediate days. She also wrote that she continued to battle with the same health issues and suicidal tendencies during her graduation. Download the TOI App.
