Hyderabad: A mid-air prank by a 12-year-old girl on an Ahmedabad-Hyderabad flight on Saturday put security personnel at the Rajiv Gandhi International (RGI) Airport on high alert.
Police officers told TOI that the girl was travelling with 45 other students and three teachers of a private school from Quthbullapur. About 10 minutes before the flight was to land, the cabin crew heard the girl say, “There is a bomb on the flight.
“Since the incident involved a minor, no complaint was lodged and no case was registered,” the inspector said. Following protocol, the aircraft was moved to an isolation bay once it landed and passengers were made to disembark. CISF personnel and police then carried out thorough anti-sabotage checks of the aircraft and the luggage. Officials added that the girl, a businessman’s daughter, was counselled through her teachers. All passengers and students were allowed to leave with their luggage after security screening.
