The emergence of CCTV footage has added a fresh dimension to the case

Hyderabad: Frustrated over being made to wait for more than 30 minutes at a railway level crossing, locals at Chatanpally near Shadnagar in Rangareddy district stopped the Guntakal–Bodhan passenger train on Saturday afternoon, forcing the loco pilot to halt the train for over 10 minutes.

The incident occurred around 2 pm when commuters arriving at the crossing assumed that the gate had been closed to allow trains to pass. However, despite waiting for more than 30 minutes, no train crossed the stretch, triggering frustration among the public. The train remained stationary for more than 10 minutes as the protesters demanded that the station master and railway officials visit the spot and explain why the crossing had been kept closed for so long without prior information or alternative arrangements.
