Hyderabad has recently witnessed three separate cases involving women found dead in hotel rooms
A 27-year-old postgraduate medical student, K Srijana, was found dead in a decomposed state inside a hotel room in Miyapur on Friday. Police said Srijana had checked into the hotel with her friend Ravi on September 30. Police said Srinivas left the hotel around 3.30am on Tuesday, telling reception staff that Sirisha would leave later after breakfast. Sirisha was subsequently found dead inside room 103. On September 22, a 29-year-old woman from Visakhapatnam, Sharon Nikhitha Topno, was found dead after checking into a Madhapur hotel with a male friend. Topno had entered room 304 with Srinivasa Ravi Teja around 2pm on Monday.
Because it was decomposed, investigators said the cause of death could not immediately be established, there were no visible injuries on the body, and. The three cases, reported from Miyapur, SR Nagar and Madhapur, have emerged at a time when hotels are increasingly becoming the setting for private meetings between couples and friends. HYDERABAD: Three women. Three hotel rooms. Three deaths. In a span of less than two weeks, Hyderabad has seen three separate cases in which women who checked into hotels with male companions were found dead, with police investigating the circumstances and, in two cases, the men who were with them fleeing the scene. all three investigations have centred on the men who accompanied the women and what happened inside the rooms While the circumstances differ in each case. After failing to contact her, Srijana’s family learnt from her friends that she had travelled to Hyderabad to meet Ravi. Police later tracked her movements to the hotel using mobile phone location data. Police registered a murder case based on a complaint from Srijana’s family. A postmortem examination is expected to determine the cause of death. When she did not respond to repeated doorbell calls, hotel staff alerted police. A murder case was registered against Srinivas, who fled the hotel and was being traced by special police teams. The following morning, Teja alerted hotel staff, saying she had fallen unconscious, and helped shift her to a private hospital in Kothaguda. She was declared brought dead at the hospital. Teja then fled, prompting hospital staff to alert police. Police found small injuries on Topno’s face and an empty liquor bottle in the hotel room. A murder case was registered, while police teams were deployed to trace Teja. each investigation has focused on what happened inside a hotel room after the woman checked in with a male companion While police have not linked the three cases. In Srijana’s case, the man she had travelled to Hyderabad to meet went missing after checking out. In Sirisha’s case, police suspect a fatal assault following a late-night quarrel, with her partner fleeing the hotel. In Topno’s case, the man who accompanied her to the hotel fled after she was declared dead at a hospital. The investigations are at different stages, and the exact circumstances and causes of death in the three cases are yet to be established in full. Download the TOI App.
Ravi reportedly checked out on Thursday morning and has remained untraceable.
Days earlier, 34-year-old bank customer care executive B Sirisha was found dead in a hotel room in SR Nagar, where she had been staying with her partner for nearly a week. Police alleged that Sirisha and her lover, A Srinivas, 38, may have had a quarrel late at night before he allegedly attacked her with a blunt object. Srinivas had checked into the hotel on September 9, while Sirisha joined him on September 24, according to police.
The two allegedly used fake Aadhaar cards with false names while checking in.
