Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday directed Ganesh pandal organisers to inform the local police commissionerates about guests in advance, saying the information would help authorities take necessary security precautions.

“Investments will flow into Hyderabad only if the city remains peaceful,” he said. He said the govt was providing free electricity to Ganesh pandals and urged organisers to apply to the concerned authorities. Reviewing arrangements for the upcoming Ganesh festival, Revanth stressed the need for coordinated efforts on law and order, traffic management and idol immersion. He directed police to set up a control room at the Command Control Centre and appoint special officers to oversee the festivities and immersion operations. The CM also asked organisers to provide advance information on pandal locations to facilitate traffic and security arrangements. Revanth directed officials to ensure that lake surroundings were suitable for crane operations during idol immersions and ordered the municipal and police departments to maintain continuous supervision until the festivities conclude. Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Mohammed Azharuddin, MP Vem Narendar Reddy, MLAs Danam Nagender and Sri Ganesh, senior officials and members of the Ganesh Utsav Committee attended the meeting.
