Hyderabad : Telangana BJP will launch a month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ from Sept 17 to Oct 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 25 years in public life, with a series of service activities and outreach programmes aimed at highlighting the benefits of central govt welfare schemes.
The campaign will commence on Sept 17, coinciding with Modi’s birthday, with the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ programme. Rao appealed to people, especially beneficiaries of central govt schemes, to light lamps at their homes as a gesture of gratitude for Modi’s 25 years of public service. Under the ‘Mere Sapno Ka Bharat’ initiative, the party will stage 30-minute emotional drama performances in villages, depicting lesser-known episodes from Modi’s 25-year public service journey, Rao said. Rao added that Sept 17 would also be observed as Telangana Liberation Day by the party.
Other programmes planned during the campaign include ‘Seva Ki Kahani’, ‘Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra’ and ‘Sushasan Seva Samvad’. Meetings of MPs, MLAs and MLCs will also be conducted to familiarise elected representatives with the campaign and its objectives. Announcing the campaign on Friday, state BJP president N Ramchander Rao said the programme is being organised on the directions of the party’s national leadership and will focus on public service initiatives, beneficiary outreach and promoting the Modi govt’s welfare measures.
