Hyderabad: The Congress govt has extended the deadline for submission of applications for Cheyutha social security pensions by another 15 days, allowing citizens to apply until Sept 15.
Govt was informed that several eligible people, particularly in Hyderabad, were unable to submit applications within the earlier deadline of Aug 31, due to the ongoing SIR process. A decision was taken to this effect following directions from panchayat raj and rural development minister D Anasuya (Seethakka).
The minister urged all eligible applicants who have not yet applied to use the opportunity before the Sept 15 final deadline. Minister Seethakka said social security pensions provide vital support to poor families and stressed that eligible beneficiaries should not miss out on welfare schemes due to lack of information or other difficulties. Persons with disabilities, in particular, requested additional time to complete the application process. Responding positively to their requests, the minister directed officials to ensure that no eligible person is deprived of the opportunity to receive a pension. She also directed officials and staff to extend full assistance during the application process and ensure that persons with disabilities do not face unnecessary difficulties in visiting govt offices.
