Because of it, hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao on Monday demanded a white paper on inclusion of land parcels in the 22A prohibited list and a comprehensive judicial inquiry into alleged irregularities, claiming nearly 50 lakh people across the state were facing problems.
Speaking at a protest in Siddipet along with BJP MP Raghunandan Rao, Ramchander Rao alleged that lakhs of acres and land parcels in places including Malkajgiri, Chevella and Siddipet had been brought under 22A due to what he termed were arbitrary decisions by the Congress govt.
He said landowners were unable to sell their properties, use them as collateral for bank loans or access funds for education and marriages. Ramchander Rao said while the Congress govt had acknowledged that mistakes had occurred in implementation of land policies, he sought to know why those errors had not been rectified. Bhu Bharati had made matters worse, he said, accusing the govt of creating disputes around private land parcels While the previous govt had created problems through Dharani. In his letter, Rao said more than eight lakh students were awaiting reimbursement and had submitted letters seeking immediate release of funds.
Families were being forced to live in uncertainty as they were unable to freely transact their own land, he alleged. He also sought an appointment with Revanth Reddy to personally hand over letters submitted by students, BJP elected representatives and Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha leaders, urging the govt to clear pending dues.
