Hyderabad: The management of a private college has been booked for allegedly cheating a US student visa aspirant by issuing educational certificates that were reportedly found to be fake during consular verification.
Ibrahim Bin Asim Yamani (24), a resident of Goshamahal, alleged that Galaxy Medical College in Bahadurpura misled him about the recognition of its paramedical course and the validity of its certificates, according to the FIR. Yamani said he approached the college after appearing for NEET and EAMCET in the 2020-21 academic year, intending to pursue a paramedical course. He subsequently enrolled and paid around ₹35,000 annually for three years. Yamani said he received degree-related information and transcripts purportedly issued in the name of Sabarmati University in 2024. In 2025, the college held a convocation and handed him an original degree certificate and marksheets, assuring him that the documents were genuine. In 2026, while applying for a US student visa, Yamani submitted the certificates to US Consulate in Hyderabad.
During verification, an officer allegedly told him that the documents were fake or forged and could not be verified. The consulate retained his original educational documents as part of the verification process, he said. He also claimed that the college was not authorised to offer the course and was not certified by Telangana State Paramedical Board (TSPMB). The college’s owner and management representative, Hussam Uddin, and vice-principal/partner Muneera allegedly assured him that the institution was recognised, affiliated and authorised to conduct the course. During the course, lecturers Zabiha and Ayesha Basheer allegedly guided him through academic activities and assured him that the course and certificates were genuine.
