The emergence of CCTV footage has added a fresh dimension to the case

Hyderabad : Claiming that the Congress govt’s welfare initiatives have reached nearly every household in Telangana , deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday said ₹1.64 lakh crore had been directly transferred to farmers, women and other beneficiaries under various schemes during the past three years.

Addressing a public meeting at Mannanur after laying foundation stones for development works worth ₹74.82 crore in Achampet constituency, Bhatti said 1.06 crore of the state’s 1.15 crore families were benefiting from govt welfare programmes. “As much as ₹1.64 lakh crore has been deposited into the accounts of farmers, the poor and women. He said the govt provided jobs to 76,000 candidates and was implementing the Indiramma Indlu scheme to help seven lakh families realise their dream of owning a house. In Achampet alone, 7,300 houses had been sanctioned with assistance of ₹5 lakh each. Bhatti said ₹90,000 crore had been earmarked for road development across the state, while district-specific development plans were being prepared based on local resources and economic potential.

I am ready to discuss these figures with anyone and accept any challenge on them,” he said. Stressing that welfare and development were being pursued simultaneously, Bhatti said every available rupee was being spent in a planned manner for public welfare and infrastructure creation. Women were also benefiting from free RTC bus travel under the Mahalakshmi scheme, he said.
