The development came to light on Monday night. Mallesh was arrested by Bollarum police on Friday and later produced before a magistrate, who remanded him to Chanchalguda prison. Meanwhile, Bollarum police on Tuesday moved a petition before a local court seeking permission for custodial interrogation of Mallesh.
