125-room Gateway hotel to come up in Siliguri

Kolkata: Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) has signed a greenfield project for a 125-room Gateway hotel in Siliguri, seeking to tap the city’s tourism and business potential as a gateway to north Bengal, the Northeast and Bhutan.

With the addition, IHCL will have 19 hotels in Bengal, including 11 under development. It will also have a banquet hall spread across more than 10,000 sq ft, along with meeting rooms and pre-function areas for social gatherings, conferences and events. The upcoming hotel will feature rooms and suites, two restaurants, a bar, a swimming pool, gym and spa. Siliguri’s connectivity and proximity to Darjeeling , Kalimpong, the Dooars and Bhutan make it an important tourism hub. The city is also near tea gardens and attractions such as the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, Coronation Bridge, Trishakti Heritage Complex and Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary.
