Kolkata: The Baruipur police’s special investigation team (SIT) has filed a 702-page charge sheet against four people before the Baruipur Special Pocso Court within 57 days of the initial complaint in the rape and murder of a 12-year-old girl in Suryapur.
The BNS sections invoked in the charge sheet — including Section 103(1) for murder and Section 70(2) for gang rape of a minor — carry a maximum penalty of life imprisonment for the remainder of natural life or the death sentence. 1408/2026) under BNS sections 137(2), 140(3), 65(1), 70(2), 103(1), 238 and 61, alongside Section 6 of the Pocso Act .
