KOLKATA: The Calcutta high court on Thursday began hearing a case concerning the offering of prayers at the Bankra mosque located inside Kolkata airport, but the matter could not be concluded due to paucity of time and will be heard again on October 7. However, the hearing remained inconclusive due to the shortage of time. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) will present its arguments against the interim relief sought by the mosque committee on the next date of hearing.

The Bankra mosque committee sought an interim order allowing prayers, particularly Friday prayers, to continue while the matter is pending before the court.
