Following the meeting at Sudip Bandyopadhyay ’s home, the MP said his colleagues had sought time till Oct 22 – another 14 days – to respond to the disqualification petition, with the deadline expiring on Thursday. Because of prior commitments, bandyopadhyay said 10 MPs could not attend.
Bandyopadhyay said the meeting was convened at short notice. “The drafting of the letter to the Speaker was finalised here, and MPs were told to ensure that all send separate letters today,” he said, adding that all the MPs had emailed Speaker by 3 pm. We also discussed what the next meeting will be on and when it will be convened,” MP Satabdi Roy said. Rachna Banerjee said the MPs would continue to support the Narendra Modi-led govt and work “for the people”.
