Kolkata: Members of the Jadavpur University executive council (EC) raised concern over the external and internal provocations that are being carried out and urged that normal academic and administrative activities should be restored immediately.

So, another EC meeting needs to be called so that recruitment of teachers, non-teaching staff can begin.

A source said, “An administrator from a state-run university and an academic-administrator from a central institute have been selected as the two EC nominees for appointing permanent registrar and finance officer. The EC also said that the process of screening the applicants and appointing them must start soon. An EC member added, “In the zero-hour of the meeting, the EC members raised that since the EC meeting was halted for a long duration, several academic and administrative decisions are pending. Repairs of dilapidated buildings, too, need to resume to avert accidents. Also, the NEP curriculum for PG courses can be approved. ”
