Police and central forces at a naka checkpoint in Nandigram on Monday
The EC has deployed a total of 71 companies of central forces for Rejinagar and Nandigram. Out of this, 34 companies will be stationed in Rejinagar and 37 in Nandigram. Rejinagar has 315 polling stations, while Nandigram has 323 stations.

“The administration has deployed a multi-layered security strategy to maintain law and order and ensure a peaceful voting environment,” an official said. Nandigram : Election Commission on Monday ordered the immediate replacement of Ajay Kumar Mishra, the IC of Nandigram police station, the move coming just hours before the high-stakes assembly bypoll. No administrative changes were issued for Rejinagar constituency in Murshidabad, where bypoll will also be held on Tuesday. The results are scheduled to be announced on Friday.
