The city was partially cloudy on Tuesday
Kolkata : Expect a fair weather on Diwali as the Met office has predicted the city to remain mostly dry between Nov 4 and 8. Along with this we also expect the night temperature to touch down to around 22°C which is a fall of three to four degrees from what it is now,” said HR Biswas, head at Regional Meteorological Centre Kolkata. On Tuesday the city recorded a maximum temperature of 31.4 degrees, slightly above the normal mark by 0.3 notches while the minimum temperature at 26.4°C was 4.2 notches above normal.
Due to this moisture build up, the city was under cloud cover on Monday and partially cloudy on Tuesday with only traces of rain.
Meteorologists said that whatever insignificant impact cyclone Murasu had on the city was over by Tuesday as the system weakens into deep depression and it is expected to weaken further by midnight. Biswas said that cyclone Murasu’s trajectory had nothing to do with the city. “We expect the city to remain mostly dry between Wednesday and Thursday. While there was no weather warning for Bengal as a consequence of Murasu there was a change in wind pattern and the system had impacted some moisture incursion.
