Kolkata : The first-part or third-semester Higher Secondary examination commenced on Monday, with a total of 7.2 lakh candidates appearing for the test. This time, all 2,105 centres were equipped with metal detectors for a thorough check of each student while entering the exam centres. A female student was caught with a mobile phone inside the examination centre. She has been barred from taking the exams. The Council has sought a report regarding this incident.
WBCHSE president Masiur Rahman Sardar had already said during a recent press briefing that mobile phones, calculators, and other electronic gadgets were prohibited inside the examination venues, and if any candidate was found carrying a mobile or electronic gadget, the examination and enrollment of the candidate would be cancelled. On the first day, exams were held for Bengali, English, Hindi, Nepali, Urdu, Santhali, Odia, Telugu, and Punjabi languages. Bringing mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, or any kind of electronic device into the examination hall is strictly prohibited.
