A proposal submitted by JU in collaboration with Damodar Valley Corporation, Steel Authority of India Limited , and Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited, is among the only four selected by the Union ministry of new and renewable energy (MNRE) for establishing such CoE in green hydrogen sector. Kolkata: A Centre of Excellence (CoE) for research and development in green hydrogen will be inaugurated on Wednesday at Technology Bhavan, Jadavpur University.
VC Chiranjib Bhattacharjee said, “The budget is Rs 8.2 crore and will be contributed equally by MNRE and DVC.
He added, “The CoE will now focus on the application of GH2 in power, steel and fertiliser industries.” JU will be the knowledge partner and will primarily participate in research. SAIL and HURL will participate in applying the technology in their facilities.
