Kolkata: A man was arrested for allegedly raping a woman in Nadial after threatening to kill her daughter. Accused Nazrul Islam alias Laltu had gone into hiding after the incident that took place last Monday and was nabbed on Wednesday night.

The survivor and her daughter were asleep when Laltu allegedly broke into the house. When the woman woke up and tried to raise an alarm, Laltu allegedly gagged her and threatened to murder her child if she continued to resist. The subsequent abuse caused the survivor to lose consciousness. The next morning, the woman lodged a police complaint.
