The candidates, who had applied for constable and sub-inspector posts, marched from Sealdah station to Esplanade despite heavy rain. They claimed the recruitment process had been delayed for too long. However, the final selection list has still not been published. The disruption also coincided with school dispersal hours, worsening congestion. Traffic police diverted vehicles through Chittaranjan Avenue, CIT Road, Esplanade and Moulali to keep traffic moving.
