Because the party does not believe in such actions, no BJP worker would do something like this. Though local Trinamool functionaries alleged the miscreants were backed by BJP, in the video released by Trinamool, no political party flag or clearly identifiable person could be seen.
A Trinamool office was allegedly vandalised at Vidyasagar Colony in Gangulybagan while CPM said goons barged into its office at Netajipally in Haridevpur, painted it saffron, threw out documents and then locked it. He said a drug den had been operating late at night at Netajipally and locals had been protesting against it. BJP also claimed that the Gangulybagan incident was the result of “internal strife” within Trinamool. The lock was broken, and intruders had damaged furniture and other items, according to the complaint. Party workers said they found the sofa overturned and the party flag bearing the twin-flower symbol torn and scattered on the floor. Shankar Sikdar said: “The BJP has no connection with this incident.
Kolkata: The Mamata TMC and CPM have alleged that BJP-backed goons attacked their party offices for the second day in a row. BJP’s Behala East MLA Shankar Sikdar denied any knowledge of the incidents. They also claimed attempts were made to open and search a cupboard. Cops have started a probe based on a complaint. Our top leadership has clearly instructed that no party office should be established by occupying someone else’s space.”
The alleged vandalism at the Trinamool office came to light late on Sunday night. If the BJP wants to set up party offices today, there are plenty of vacant places available.
