PRAYAGRAJ: Authorities of Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education board have decided to act strong against those who spread misinformation or fake news on social media platform, including WhatsApp or X pertaining to Board exams of class 10 and 12, starting from Feb 22. Talking to media on Tuesday, UP board Secretary Dibyakant Shukla said, “The examination will be held in a total of 8265 examination centres, spread across 566 government schools, 3479 aided schools and 4220 unaided schools of the state. In class 10, a total of 29,47,311 students have been registered out of which 15,71,184 are boys and 13,76,127 are girl students. Likewise, for class 12 board examination, a total of 25,77,997 students have registered out of which 14,28,323 are boys and 11,49,674 are girls. “In view of organising a copy-free Board exam, for the first time a secure QR code and computerised identity card with number has been prepared for about 2.90 lakh invigilators.
Apart from this, printing of protective QR code, serial number, logo etc. on answer sheets has been made to prevent exchanging of answer sheets”, said Shukla.
Along with this, the pages of the answer sheets have been prepared by stitching them in place of staple pins and printing them in four different colors unlike last year, he added.
In addition to this, UP Board has taken number of initiatives to conduct the board examination of class 10 and 12 in a transparent and fair manner including setting up of a dedicated Command and Control room here at headquarters of the Board. Around 50 computers and double the number of staff members are watching the live streaming of the strong rooms where the question papers are kept. The board examination for class 10th and 12th will be conducted in 12 working days, commencing from February 22 and will conclude on March 9. A total of 55,25,308 students have been registered for class 10th and 12th board examination this year, out of which 29,99,507 are boys and 25,25,801 are girls.
For keeping a close eye on the posts on the social media based on incorrect information or fake news, the board has set up a dedicated team of experts who will be keeping a close watch on all the social media platforms and keep a vigil on every post or information that are being shared on the WhatsApp or other social media platforms. If found fake or incorrect, the board will take necessary legal action against such people or group admin who has posted or forwarded such information.
