Bagalkot: A 25-year-old man was murdered during a Dasara dandiya programme in Mudhol in Bagalkot district on Saturday night.
Police said Nimbalkar warned Kudari after he allegedly misbehaved with women participating in the dandiya programme. Police said Kudari later returned with his friends Sampat and Pardeep and allegedly stabbed Nimbalkar, who succumbed to his injuries. Bagalkot SP Siddarth Goyal said the murder occurred during the dandiya celebrations.
The deceased was identified as Nitin Nimbalkar, a resident of Mudhol. The incident occurred when Srinivas Kudari, who was allegedly in an inebriated state, created a nuisance during a dandiya programme organised at Vinayak Nagar in Mudhol. However, Kudari reportedly continued his behaviour, following which Nimbalkar assaulted him. The accused also allegedly assaulted Nitin’s uncle, Sanjay Nimbalkar, when he tried to intervene and prevent the quarrel. “We are investigating the case from the angle of an old rivalry between the youths. Mudhol police have registered a case and are investigating it,” he added.
