Bengaluru: A city traffic court recently found two drivers guilty in different road crash cases and sentenced them to punishment, including imprisonment and fines.
A 41-year-old towing vehicle driver, identified as Noorulla Fayaz Khan of Siddapura near Jayanagar, was sentenced to one year and three months of simple imprisonment for causing the death of a 21-year-old motorist on MES Ring Road, Yeshwanthapur, in Feb 2024.
The accident had taken place on the evening of Feb 26, 2024, when motorist Rajeev TR was crushed to death by Khan’s vehicle, according to the chargesheet. In the other accident reported in July of the same year, a 43-year-old BMTC driver, identified as P Krishnamurthy, was held guilty of seriously injuring motorist Prahllad after ramming his two-wheeler near Ayyappa Swamy temple on HMT Road, Yeshwanthapur. The court directed Krishnamurthy to pay a fine of Rs 11,000 or undergo simple imprisonment of 45 days.

The CCTV footage showing the accident and materials collected from the accident spot like damaged pieces of Khan’s vehicle proved Khan’s guilt,” an investigating officer said. “Brushed by an opposite vehicle, Rajeev fell and Khan, who was driving behind him, crushed him to death.
