A youth from Bidar has now been arrested due to suspected links with him

On October 1, an NIA team, with the assistance of Bidar police, arrested Vishal Metre, a resident of Yanakura village in Bhalki taluk, Bidar district, on suspicion of having links with Pakistan-based designated terrorist Shahzad Bhatti and others. A case was registered on October 1 at Khatakachincholi police station in Bhalki taluk, Bidar district, against seven individuals including Vishalakumar Metre from Enakuru village in Bhalki taluk, three Pakistani nationals, one person each from Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, and another individual for their alleged involvement in anti-national activities. A youth from Bidar has now been arrested due to suspected links with him.

It is reported that Shahzad Bhatti was carrying out terrorist activities after breaking away from Lawrence terror gang. Bidar: Two individuals were recently arrested in Chikkaballapur on charges of conspiring to carry out subversive acts in the country. Now, an NIA team has arrested a youth from Bidar on suspicion of having links with a terrorist. There is also information indicating that the arrested youth has a criminal background. NIA arrested him under UAPA. There is also information indicating that the arrested Vishal Metre has a criminal background. Bidar SP Pradeep Gunti stated, “Court proceedings are currently underway; further details will be provided once they are concluded.

Based on a complaint filed by Hanamareddappa, CPI of Bhalki Rural Circle, a case has been registered and an investigation initiated under Sections 18, 20, and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, and Section 61(2) read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
