Dharwad : The Dharwad district committee of the All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO) has strongly opposed the Karnataka govt’s decision to increase II PUC examination fees by 50% for the 2026-27 academic year, calling it an anti-student, anti-education move.
The fee for each practical examination has gone up from Rs 110 to Rs 165, while the marks card fee has increased from Rs 50 to Rs 75. The examination centre fee has been revised from Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000. Charges for duplicate, triplicate and tatkal marks cards have also been raised by 50%. In addition, the govt has introduced a new fee of Rs 2,000 for verification of II PUC marks cards, while the fee for correction of examination marks has been increased from Rs 262 to Rs 525.
AIDSO urged the state govt to immediately withdraw the order, warning that the steep hike could push many poor and rural students away from education.
