Recalling the staging of Vidisha Prahasana in Dharwad, he said Jambe remained committed to his creative vision until every detail met his expectations. Theatre activist Vishweshwari Hiremath said Jambe’s realistic approach left a lasting impact on generations of artistes. Former Rangayana director Prakash Garud said Jambe envisioned Rangayana as a space for nurturing actors through repertory training.
Dharwad : Theatre artistes, writers and former associates paid tribute to renowned theatre director and activist Chidambara Rao Jambe at a condolence meeting in Dharwad, remembering him as a disciplinarian, innovator and one of Karnataka ’s finest theatre mentors. Senior litterateur and playwright Siddalinga Pattanashetti described Jambe as a pioneer of stage discipline and experimentation who never compromised on artistic standards. Actor-director Hulagappa Kattimani highlighted his ability to help students connect with the emotional core of a play and praised his efforts to strengthen children’s theatre at Mysuru Rangayana. Musician Raghav Kammar, costume designer Neela Nimbanagoudar, Rajani Gaud and several artistes also shared memories of Jambe’s mentorship, meticulous approach and enduring human values.
