Mysuru : The state govt released an enumerator’s form to verify Gruha Lakshmi beneficiaries across the state. The plan is to verify the beneficiaries’ details at their households to remove ineligible or deceased beneficiaries. The drive will collect EPIC details, to ensure only residents of the state receive the benefits of the scheme. The beneficiaries must also hold an Aadhaar-seeded bank account in the state to receive the benefits.
This drive will be carried out with the help of Anganwadi workers , according to the officials. As per the revised rules, there should not be any loan in the bank accounts linked to the Gruha Lakshmi scheme to ensure that banks will not adjust the money against loans.
During the district-level progress review meeting, deputy director, department of women and child welfare, Nagaraju informed that for every 250 beneficiaries, an enumerator will be appointed. In the meeting, it was informed that Rs 79.8 lakh has been recovered from bank accounts of the 15,724 beneficiaries who were deceased and continued to get money to their accounts. Officials also said that Rs 2.3 crore benefit amount was frozen in the bank accounts of deceased beneficiaries.
In the meeting, when the guarantee committee members raised environmental concerns over the damage of trees due to the Dasara illumination, officials clarified that trees will be used for the illumination in less than 10kms radius. “Rs 1.4 crore was drawn by families from the bank accounts of beneficiaries who continue to receive the Rs 2,000,” officials said. Speaking in the meeting, district guarantee committee chairman Arun Kumar stated that the guarantee schemes are the flagship projects of the state govt and everyone eligible must avail the benefit.
