Bangalore South MP Tejasvi Surya speaks at Karnataka Vidyavardhaka Sangha in Dharwad on Tuesday

Speaking at the news conference in Hubballi on Tuesday evening, MP Tejasvi Surya said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate ‘Namma Metro’ Pink Line, a long-awaited development for lakhs of commuters in Bengaluru on Nov 13.

Addressing the ‘ Prajaprabhutva Ulisi, Aarajakathe Alisi’ Yuva Samvad at BVB Biotech Hall in Hubballi, Surya referred to Congress’ demand for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and said Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercises had been conducted several times in the past, including during Congress governments, without attracting similar criticism. Surya said India needed rapid economic growth to realise its full potential and cautioned against attempts to weaken constitutional institutions for political gain. Urging students and young voters to think critically, he cited a World Bank report that, according to him, showed significant progress in poverty reduction during the last decade. Economic growth, he said, remained the key to expanding opportunities and improving living standards.

He argued that political instability and external interference could hamper the country’s development prospects. Hubballi/Dharwad: Bengaluru South BJP MP Tejasvi Surya on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the Congress and its leader Rahul Gandhi , accusing the party of repeatedly targeting constitutional institutions out of political desperation.

Responding to questions on employment, Surya said sustained economic growth was essential to bridge the gap between education and jobs. He said he would support efforts to leverage technology to take Kannada language and literature to a global audience. KLE Society director Shankaranna Munavalli, Dr Sachin BS, Sanjay Kotabagi and others were present. He also visited the residence of Jnanpith Award recipient poet Da Ra Bendre and Bendre Bhavan at Sadhanakeri. He interacted with Bendre’s granddaughter, Punarvasu.

Earlier in Dharwad, Surya visited the Karnatak Vidyavardhaka Sangha and praised its contribution to the unification of Kannada-speaking regions and the promotion of the Kannada language.
