Barke police have registered an FIR against a 22-year-old candidate for allegedly submitting

Mangaluru: Barke police have registered an FIR against a 22-year-old candidate for allegedly submitting forged documents during the Karnataka State Police recruitment process. Police registered the case on Sep 28 based on a complaint by Prakash Rudrappa Hoovin, 49, an assistant administrative officer in the SP’s office in Dakshina Kannada. Officials conducted physical and endurance tests for recruitment to the post of police constable (civil) in Dakshina Kannada at Mangala Stadium in Mangaluru on Sept 28, according to the FIR.

During document verification, officials allegedly found discrepancies in documents submitted by the candidate, identified as Yajnesh BJ Rai, a resident of Kodimbala in Kadaba taluk. Rai had appeared with a hall ticket. Police allege that he submitted forged documents to establish his eligibility and gain entry to the recruitment process.

Police registered a case at Barke police station under sections 336(1), 336(3), and 318(4) of the BNS. Investigation is on.
