Yadgir: Medical education minister and Yadgir district in-charge Sharanaprakash Patil has drawn up a roadmap to accelerate the district’s development and fast-track long-pending projects with the support of elected representatives and the public.
A two-day Karnataka Development Programme (KDP) review meeting has been scheduled for Sept 7 and 8. Development initiatives launched by Shahapur MLA and former district minister Sharanabasappa Darshanapur will continue, while the administrative machinery will be geared up to speed up ongoing projects.
Speaking to TOI, Patil said Yadgir had made considerable progress since it was carved out of Kalaburagi district over a decade ago, but much more remained to be done. He said he would devote adequate time to addressing the concerns of residents and farmers after being entrusted with the district’s responsibility by the chief minister and the party leadership. Patil said all programmes, ongoing schemes and development projects across departments will be reviewed comprehensively for the first time.
A preliminary meeting has already been held and inputs gathered to develop Yadgir into a model district.
