Mohammed Roshan, deputy commissioner, said: “All necessary measures have been taken to provide essential facilities for devotees visiting the temple during Navratri. Vishwas Vaidya, MLA for Savadatti, said: “Facilities such as clean drinking water and toilets have been provided. Belagavi : Renuka Yallamma Devi temple at Yallamma Gudda, one of the largest Shakti Peethas in North Karnataka region, is gearing up for the Navratri festival, when lakhs of devotees from Karnataka, Maharashtra and Goa flock to the shrine to perform religious rituals. The temple sees a particularly heavy rush on the fifth, seventh and ninth days of the festival. Temple officials have made preparations to celebrate the festival with enthusiasm. Transport Corporation has arranged special bus services to Yallamma Gudda from various bus stations, including Belagavi and Savadatti. Care is being taken to ensure there is no inconvenience. Ghatsthapana, the ceremony of installation of the sacred pot, will be held at 6pm on Oct 11, according to the Renuka Yallamma Devi temple committee. Ayudha Puja is scheduled for Oct 20. Local elected representatives, dignitaries, and officials will inaugurate the festival. Throughout Navratri, special puja, decoration, and naivedya (food offering) rituals will be performed for Goddess Yallamma. Devotees visiting Yallamma Gudda during Navratri traditionally offer oil for lamps. To facilitate this, lamps have been installed within the temple premises.
