Five students sustained injuries when a wall collapsed at Rama Laxminarayan Convention Hall during a gathering.
One of the injured, 16-year-old Mohammed Shamaj, was shifted to the intensive care unit and was in critical condition, hospital authorities said. A large number of students had gathered at the venue for a programme related to the ceremony of office-bearers of the college student union, according to police. The injured were admitted to Highland Hospital. With the venue overcrowded, some students were standing in a corridor and reportedly leaned against a wall. The wall, which was apparently weak, collapsed, causing several students to fall and sustain injuries. Police are investigating the circumstances leading to the collapse. Download the TOI App.
