Speaking to reporters Tuesday, Jeevaraj said the constituency had no politics of hatred and high-handedness earlier. Citing recent incidents, he said a bike rider was waylaid and fatally attacked near Addagade by a villager, but cops filed a case against the victim instead. Law and order has collapsed in the constituency, he said.
Chikkamagaluru : Former minister DN Jeevaraj has alleged that Congress is promoting goonda culture in Sringeri constituency and claimed that law and order has collapsed there. Now, officials are being attacked and harassed, and Congress has started a goonda culture, he alleged. A few days ago, Congress leaders themselves waylaid and attacked the Sringeri taluk panchayat executive officer, he claimed. If such attacks and atrocities are being carried out against officials themselves, what will be the plight of the common man?
He said there is confusion over whether it was a Prajaseva programme or a Congress party programme. Accusing the ruling party of calling others corrupt and dacoits, Jeevaraj questioned, “When you have your own government, why not transfer them elsewhere? Are those who call others corrupt not corrupt themselves? He also alleged that during the Prajaseva programme, Congress leaders attacked the village accountant and did not allow him to speak. Even the tahsildar was not allowed to speak.
