Group of two-wheeler mechanics giving free service to Ganesha devotees
Belagavi : In a unique service initiative during the ongoing Ganesha festival, the Belagavi Scooter and Motorcycle Mechanics Welfare Association has launched a free two-wheeler repair programme to assist devotees facing vehicle breakdowns while visiting Ganesha pandals across the city.
With lakhs of devotees expected to travel across Belagavi and nearby areas, the association has deployed 40 experienced mechanics at five strategic locations to provide prompt roadside assistance. Association office-bearers said a coordinated response system has been put in place to ensure quick and efficient service. The association said the centralised system would prevent confusion, reduce delays and ensure better deployment of manpower during the festival rush. Emphasising the spirit of community service behind the initiative, Daddikar said, “Your problem is our responsibility.
Devotees have been advised to contact the designated numbers for their respective zones instead of calling mechanics individually. Coordinators will then assign the nearest available mechanic and arrange assistance at the required location. The initiative is being led by association president Vijaykumar Nimbargikar, vice-president Raju Redekar, secretary Maruti Gurav, treasurer Mahesh Kakatikar and directors Vijay Shinde and Girish Naik, popularly known as Pillu Mestry. Free repair assistance is available at Channamma Circle, Vadgaon, Goaves Circle, Fort Road and Tilak Chowk. The association has urged devotees to use only the official helpline numbers assigned to these locations. Our mechanic brothers are always ready to serve Ganesha devotees.
