Condolence visit: Karnataka BJP president BY Vijayendra and leader of opposition R Ashok visit the family affected by the fire accident on Saturday Belagavi: Karnataka BJP president BY Vijayendra and leader of the opposition R Ashok Saturday visited the bereaved family of the victims of Sept 14 fire accident in Chavat Galli that claimed the lives of six members of a family, including four women. BJP provided Rs 1 lakh financial assistance to the affected family. Police suspect that the tragedy, which occurred on Ganesh Chaturthi , was caused by a refrigerator being blasted due to a short circuit.
The leaders also assured support in securing additional relief and said they would write to DK Shivakumar seeking compensation from the chief minister’s relief fund. Meanwhile, authorities have intensified the investigation into the accident. However, CCTV footage from the vicinity captured an unknown person walking around holding a bucket, prompting police to investigate further. He met Gudaj’s family, expressed condolences and provided financial assistance. BJP state vice-president Anil Benake, MLA Vitthal Halagekar, divisional in-charges Sanjay Patil and Aravind Patil, rural district president Subhash Patil, Geeta Sutar, Muragendragouda Patil and other party leaders and workers were present.
