Belagavi: Karnataka State Women’s Commission Chairperson Nagalakshmi Chowdhary will undertake a three-day visit to Belagavi district from Sept 6 to 8 to participate in programmes related to women’s welfare, safety and awareness.
On Sept 6, she will attend a religious programme at Sri Sadguru Ramalingeshwara Sansthan Math in Kakmari village of Athani taluk. On Sept 7, Chowdhary will visit the District Govt Hospital in Belagavi and inaugurate a POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) workshop at Suvarna Vidhana Soudha. On Sept 8, she will attend a girl child safety awareness programme at KLE Centenary Convention Hall and later chair a Women’s Progress Review Meeting at Suvarna Vidhana Soudha, according to an official release.
She will also participate in the “Jagruti Jyothi Belagali, Samajada Bhavishya Aralali” awareness programme in Kagawad. She will later interact with border-region students, visit the Government Mother and Child Hospital and a girls’ hostel, and meet nomadic shepherd women near the Sadalga Aranya Siddheshwara Temple.
