Haveri: Textiles and sugar Minister Rudrappa Lamani on Saturday inaugurated Haveri district’s first Praja Seva campaign at the Sri Kumareshwara Viraktamath premises in Hangal, asserting that the welfare of people is the true welfare of the state and that public service must begin by directly addressing citizens’ concerns.
Lamani said common people cannot be expected to travel to Vidhana Soudha for every issue and that the Praja Seva campaign was designed to bring government services to their doorsteps. he said the initiative would help reduce the hardship faced by poor families who are often forced to visit multiple government offices to seek relief While acknowledging that all grievances cannot be resolved immediately. MLA and Karnataka Housing Board chairperson Srinivas Mane said the programme reflected the vision of a government that actively reaches out to people. He said Praja Seva meetings would be held in every taluk on the first and third Saturdays of each month before being expanded to the hobli and village levels. Deputy commissioner Vijay Mahantesh Danammanavar said the platform would ensure timely responses from officials and facilitate the resolution of common grievances at the village, taluk and district levels.
DCC president Sanjeevkumar Neeralagi, senior government officials, elected representatives and Congress leaders were also present at the inaugural event.
