Simmha is facing charges under various sections of the BNS, including those relating to unlawful assembly, rioting, promoting enmity, public mischief and obstruction of public servants, besides Section 3(1)(r) and Section 3(1)(u) of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
“The second FIR was also registered at the T Narasipura police station,” said Mysuru SP Mallikarjun Baladandi. Gathering near the Ambedkar statue in front of Town Hall, they raised slogans against Simmha and demanded that police arrest him immediately and extern him from the district. They also urged police to initiate legal action against him and open a rowdysheet. The protesters accused the former MP of making statements that could disturb social harmony.
