Commissioner Kartik M said the initiative would save citizens time and effort by eliminating repeated visits to civic offices. Belagavi: Residents can now receive birth and death certificates issued by the Belagavi City Corporation (BCC) at their doorstep through the postal department. Under the facility, citizens applying for birth or death certificates can opt for postal delivery by submitting a consent letter along with their address. Once the certificate is processed, the BCC issuance department will dispatch it through the postal department, and applicants can receive it at their doorstep on payment of the prescribed postal charges. Ashokkumar Sajjan, engineer in the environment division and registrar of births and deaths, along with postal department officials Maruti Dodamani and Ananthashayana, were present. An MoU to this effect was signed on Friday at the BCC commissioner’s office by commissioner Kartik M and Arushi Sharma , senior superintendent of post offices, Belagavi division.
