HDMC deputy commissioner (development) Vijaykumar R told TOI that the UID will integrate multiple civic services, including property tax payments, water bills, trade licences, road-cutting charges and other fee collections under a single platform. Discussions are also under way with Hescom to incorporate electricity meter numbers into the system.
Unlike the PID, which changes due to ward delimitation or software migration, the UID will remain permanent irrespective of changes in ward boundaries,” Vijaykumar said. “We studied Hyderabad’s UID model and improved upon it. To develop the system, HDMC has compiled extensive GIS-based data through aerial surveys. Officials say the database includes high-resolution imagery capable of providing detailed information on properties and city infrastructure.
