SWR) has registered record freight loading in July 2026 alongside steady growth in key revenue segments, reflecting its continued focus on operational efficiency and customer-oriented services. The release further said, “On a cumulative scale up to Aug 2026, SWR commodity presents a diversified and highly resilient fiscal foundation. Iron ore continues to stand as the primary volume driver, contributing 8.48 MT to the network, which marks a 4.8% annual expansion over last year’s 8.09 MT. Cumulative steel and coal transport lines maintained strong growth at 4.82 MT (+7.6%) and 4.46 MT (+9.7%) respectively. Notably, the food grains sector delivered an exponential 118.4% leap, handling 0.083 MT compared to just 0.038 MT in the prior year. This was supported by a 29.6% surge in balance of other goods (1.08 MT). On the earnings front, the zone registered a monthly Gross Revenue of Rs 805.7 crore in Aug, pushing its total cumulative earnings for the financial year up to Rs 3,850.05 crore. This cumulative figure reflects a steady 2.45% year-over-year expansion compared to the Rs 3,757.85 crore generated during the same period in 2025, adding an absolute incremental gain of Rs 92.20 crore to the zone’s balance sheet. Monthly freight operations brought in Rs 417.08 crore, contributing to a cumulative fiscal total of Rs 2,074.36 crore up to Aug. Simultaneously, passenger train operations generated a standalone monthly sum of Rs 348.97 crore. This pushed total cumulative passenger revenue to Rs 1,552.7 crore, marking a phenomenal 13.51% growth over last year.”
