Belagavi : The 99th Nada Habba Festival will be held at Kannada Sahitya Bhavan in Belagavi from Oct 11 to 15, festival committee president Dr HB Rajashekhar said on Friday.
The five-day festival will feature seminars, poets’ meets, dance performances, art exhibitions and cultural programmes, bringing together writers, artists and Kannada enthusiasts.
Regional Commissioner KM Janaki will inaugurate the festival at 6pm on Oct 11, in the presence of Siddharama Swamiji of Tontadarya Math, Gadag. Belagavi MP Jagadish Shettar will preside, while Prof Basavaraja Jagajampi will speak on ‘Vande Mataram’.
The festival will conclude on Oct 15 with a poets’ meet inaugurated by poet Basu Bevingidada. Started in 1927 by eminent personalities, including Betageri Krishnasharma, Nada Habba aims to preserve and promote Kannada language and culture. Stay updated with the latest Hubballi news.
Programmes over the next three days will focus on the future of the world, women’s reservation and empowerment, and promotion of Kannada at the international level. Sarjoo Katkar will preside, while Nijalingeshwar Swamiji of Nidasoshi Math will attend. Cultural events will be organised in association with the Kannada and Culture Department.
