The Audi SUV in which Saleem was found dead being inspected by Koramangala police
Police have identified the deceased as Saleem Akbar S (46), a real estate businessman from Kodagu, who was staying in a Koramangala hotel. Bengaluru: An Audi SUV parked outside a fast-food restaurant close to Koramangala police station triggered the alarm Sunday morning after the eatery staff found a man unresponsive inside the vehicle. The SUV door was open, and when staff tried to wake the occupant, there was no response. They informed Koramangala police, who rushed to the spot and inspected the vehicle. Police have contacted his family, who reside in Kodagu, and are also gathering more details about him and the circumstances preceding his death. A case of unnatural death has been registered. A postmortem examination will be conducted Monday.
Saleem may have died of a cardiac arrest, though the exact cause of death will be established through a postmortem examination, according to investigators. His body has been shifted to St John’s Hospital, a senior officer said. Saleem had rented a house at Koramangala. He had later shifted to another place before staying in the hotel.
