About 2,000 members, including office-bearers, participated in the event Setting the course: Karnataka Veerashaiva Panchamasali Sangh’s Annual General Body meeting was inaugurated by lighting the ceremonial lamp in Haveri on Saturday.
Haveri: State Veerashaiva Lingayat Panchamasali Association, at its 2025–26 annual general meeting Saturday, authorised newly elected president Shankar Bisarahalli to represent it in all legal disputes concerning the interests of the association and the community and appoint advocates whenever required.
Members said the president’s powers must be exercised according to the association’s bylaws, applicable laws and resolutions. The meeting, held at Shivabasava Kalyana Mantapa in Hukkerimath, Haveri, was attended by many office-bearers and members and passed resolutions on administration, elections, finances and legal matters. The meeting resolved that a general election must be held within a suitable time frame after the present governing body completes its fixed term, in accordance with the bylaws. Members stressed that the election should be free, fair and transparent, with equal opportunity for all eligible candidates. Bisarahalli was also empowered to appoint a qualified election officer to conduct the poll impartially and legally.
